LEADERSHIP ADOPTION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOLS FOR EFFECTIVE INSTITUTIONAL PERFORMANCE IN COLLEGES OF EDUCATION IN DELTA STATE OF NIGERIA

The study investigated leadership adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for effective institutional performance in public Colleges of Education in Delta State. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design and was guided by three research questions and three null hypotheses. The population comprised 1,248 staff of public Colleges of Education in Delta State. A sample size of 312 staff, representing 25% of the population, was selected using disproportionate and simple random sampling techniques. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire titled : Leadership Adoption of AI Tools Questionnaire. The instrument was validated by two experts in Educational Management, while its reliability was established using Cronbach's alpha, which yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.82. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions, while independent samples t-test was used to test the null hypotheses at the 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that leadership adoption of AI tools influences administrative efficiency, decision-making processes, and staff productivity in public Colleges of Education in Delta State. The study concluded that leadership adoption of AI tools contributes to effective institutional performance. Based on the findings, it was recommended, among others, that regular training programmes and seminars should be organised for educational leaders and staff to update their knowledge and skills in the use of AI tools for effective institutional performance in public Colleges of Education in Delta State.
